In Kahan’s galleries of African art he conducted many specialized exhibitions, such as “Ekon Society,” “Minimalism,” “Puppets,” “Gestures,” “Metamorphosis,” “Metal in African Art,” “Mali,” “Multiples,” “Black, White and Red,” “Terracottas,” and others.
Kahan initiated, curated and designed a permanent collection of African Art at the Queensborough Community College Art Gallery in Bayside, NY along with their director, Faustino Quintanilla.
ln 2004 Leonard Kahan and Donna Page co-curated an exhibition of “Surfaces” at the S.M.A. Fathers African art Museum in Tenafly, NJ.
Leonard has also curated over 15 thematic exhibitions of African art at the SMA fathers and the QCC Art gallery, from 1982 to the present.
At the moment Leonard Kahan, Dr. Calvin Holder and Donna Page are writing a book and planning an exhibition entitled “AAAAC.” (African American African Art Collectors)
